We spoke with CCO/CPOEirik Stavem who gave us his input on why they are choosing to explore video shopping solutions for their customers.
“Chat has been a growing trend that has helped increase conversions for online stores. For some segments, we now see that interest in video chat with customers is increasing, e.g those who sell goods that require a lot of insight and information to choose the right product, be it skis and ski packages, tents and outdoor equipment, or other products in slightly higher price ranges.
Recently, we have seen interest from our largest and most forward-looking customers, but it will be very interesting to follow the development as video chat becomes more popular in the ecommerce world. Ultimately, it is the consumers who decide how they want to receive shopping assistance and service, and it is not unlikely that video will be the preferred channel especially when making a complex and expensive purchase.”
